Job Summary:Â
The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing manufacturing activities in pursuance of business goals. Includes reviewing production schedules, development of policies and procedures designed to increase productivity, assure quality, and mitigate production problems. Director of Operations will improve throughput and other in-house processes with the objective of reducing overall costs and enhancing customer satisfaction.
 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee and support all of manufacturing (Production, Metal Shop, Logistics)

Provide leadership for manufacturing and plant initiatives

Support long-term strategic plans and implementation of production procedures across the plant

Improve line efficiencies while improving quality levels, including the reduction of waste

Help in the selection of capital equipment as needed, create business case, and work with appropriate departments to purchase, installation, and start-up
-
Manage budgets and ensure company goals are achieved, improve production standards through time studies and other standard data development methods

Develop plant or process flow layouts to improve productivity

Provide cost analysis as required by Director of Operations

Support and further enhance 5s program / general housekeeping practices

Promote a positive team environment with members of the Management Team to ensure coordinated efforts are being pursued to achieve goals for the VP of Operations

Comply with all company policies and procedures
-
All other duties as assigned by management

Maintain quality standards on all products and processes, responsible for ensuring that all manufacturing processes meet or exceed all quality expectations for the product

Exercise compliance with ISO standards when implementing and performing all company procedures
-
Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
-
Demonstrate a commitment to safety and an injury-free environment through own actions and team mentoring, maintain 5S standards and ensure employees are performing tasks safely and in accordance with Airia policies and any applicable legislation

Communicate and ensure the effective implementation and adherence to all Airia Policies

Plan and maintain staffing levels and shift schedules to achieve plant objective and budgets

Participate in the recruiting process of new employees including interviews, hiring, and orientation

Directly manage and lead the Production Supervisor team
-
Provide regular coaching, performance feedback and effective training to team for skill development, growth, and performance improvement to encourage and support a high-performance work culture

Demonstrate continuous improvement in areas of responsibility by reducing process waste/NVA and establish new or adjust existing procedures and practices.

Administer disciplinary action, as may be required.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience:Â

10 years’ experience in a supervisory/management position in a manufacturing environment

Post-secondary degree or diploma
